   Sable is currently shooting her second Playboy spread and the 2nd issue featuring the WWF woman¹s champion should be in newsstands in fall. The recent Sable Playboy issue is the best selling issue in 15 years.Times Square will be welcoming a new theme restaurant soon. The WWF is creating their wrestling café which scheduled to open in the year 2000. In unison with café opening, the WWF will also open their casino in Las Vegas. The 50,000 square foot casino will feature a 750 seat showroom including a large screen which will broadcast WWF programming. The 40 story hotel will include a health club, cyber café, swimming pool, buffet, gift shop and ,of course, WWF theme restaurant. This  May 8th, Monday Night Raw set a new cable television record. Raw was the most watched sports entertainment  show in history with over 6 million people tuning in. WWF enjoyed the ratings success due to WCW Nitro's  preemption by a basketball game. USA Network had its largest audience their history.

   Taka Michinoku is likely to be brought back to work with The Super Astros program and also to restart the lightweight division in the WWF sometime during summer. Tank Abbott will likely be joining the ranks of pro  wrestling.   He is reported to join Don Frye in Japan. Big Dick Dudley is already rumored to be in negotiations with the WWF. "The Plan" is still to have Steve Austin blow up the Debbie Reynolds Hotel as part of an angle. Stan Stasiak  debuted as Meat. The muscular second generation wrestler will be involved in the PMS angle. His father was the originator of the heart punch. Golga, Gillberg and the Blue Meanie  have  been released from the WWF. Reports have it that Steve Austin was struck by a car in an airport but is ok. But Austin's quick eye did catch the license plate number. The hit and run is still under investigation. Tito Santana is the latest wrestler to enter the political arena. He will be running  for an undisclosed (as of yet) political office in New Jersey.

   Rumors that former CFL superstar Glen Kulka's release are false. Kulka will be at the next WWF training camp stars to debut in the WWF along with top prospect Steve Bradley.   Sean "Meat" Stasiak and "Prince Albert" will be tested for fan acceptance. The Insane Clown Posse may join Thrasher in his new second generation Doink the Evil Clown gimmick.   Expect Mosh to continue the Beaver Clevage angle.   The mother of that gimmick is Canadian Fitness model named Marianna Komlos.    Scott Hall is considering suing WCW after an employee ran over his foot backstage at a past Nitro show. Hall is back together with Dana Hall and his family. He should  be returning to as soon as his foot injury heels. Pro Bodybuilders such as the gargantuan Paul Dillet who makes Scott Steiner look puny would like to try his massive hands at wrestling. Reports state that  he was offered a $500,000 contract from WCW. Chris Cormier and others such as fitness sensation Trish Status are others considering a wrestling career. The recently divorced Lex Luger is  rumored to be dating Randy Savage¹s ex-wife Miss Elizabeth. .Whisper, whose beau is Shawn Michaels , has given notice to WCW. Kevin Nash set up the couple who  later married.

   Wrath underwent surgery on April 29th & will be out of action for about half the year. WCW is apparently firing him and there are rumors of Davey suing WCW.    The blond Nitro bomshell, Torrie Wilson who is with David Flair, is on the recent cover of  MuscleMag International. With the Undertaker and Ultimate Warrior delving into comic books, Kevin Nash debuted his new comic book. The special edition will feature exclusive interview with Nash and will look at storylines and artwork for future issues. Bill Goldberg suffered a leg injury after receiving a chair shot from Bret Hart. Juventud Guerrero and Jerry Flynn were arrested recently  for driving while impaired.

   Disney's distribution arm, Buena Vista, will coming to the rescue of future ECW  PPVs. ECW hotline is now claiming that Chastity had made an adult film (Live Bait) in 1997 prior to entering the wrestling business. Tommy Rich is finished with ECW.  Sabu left ECW over the direction of his character and his 2nd loss to Taz at ECW's last PPV.  Sabu eventually returned to hammer out a deal with Heyman. Sabu has history of leaving due to locker room politics. He once quit after Masato Tanaka didn't receive his visa in time which led to the demise of FMW and ECW relations.   He left after losing to the Dudleys and has reportedly threatened to leave over character direction. TNN plans to add pro-wrestling to their line-up to improve their ratings. ECW is currently in negotiations with TNN to be their ratings booster  The official ECW magazine is currently out in newsstands. The full color magazine contains an interview with Taz and features other ECW stars. Shane Douglas has left ECW & won't be in  ECW's PPV- Hardcore Heaven. Shane should debut in the WWF soon. Mr. PPV, Rob Van Dam was recently in a HBO martial arts film called Bloodmoon . RVD is currently gracing the cover of  High Times magazine.

   Kensuke  Sasaki has beaten  Satoshi Kojima. in the finals of the #1 contender tournament to declare a  challenger for Keiji Mutoh's IWGP World Title which he retained. Scott Norton was in action, defeating Maso Sito in his retirement match. Ultimo Dragon had a press conference regarding his wrestling career. A comeback isn't likely for Ultimo who is expected to have his 3rd surgery in attempt to repair nerve damage in  his  right arm which has limitied range.

   In Japan, Masa Chono is facing Atsushi Onita (who was suppose to work an ECW match with Sandman before his ECW days) in a 200 volt explosion match.. The NAWA is back with a big card at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. Scheduled to appear are Missy Hyatt, Sweet Destiny, Kimona Wana-Laya, Psycho Sid, The Big Show Paul White, King Kong Bundy, Devon Storm, Shark Attack Kid, Reckless Youth, Bushwackers, Gillberg, Droz, Public Enemy and the Pitbulls and Tony "The Godfather" Capone. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster  and the Westchester County Center box office. The NAWA is the first wrestling promotion to run a show at this venue as the WWF had house shows and  tapings there for years. On May 2, the AWF had its Garden City Showdown  in Toronto, Canada. Based out of St. Catherines,  the main event featured as Jim Neidhart, Jimmy Snuka and Tony Atlas.  
 There were other performances from Ms. B.Haven, who became AWF champion and a top notch match from L' Artiste and Sexy Baby Jamie Jackson.    The next AWF card will be on May 16 at 4pm as Ms. B. Haven defends his/her title against George the Animal Steele at Cactus Pete¹s Bar and Grill in Scarborough. The big news of the night was that Terry Funk will face ECW wildman  Sabu (with Bill Alfonso) at the AWF June Card in St. Catherines.  For more info on the AWF visit their website at:

   Sid  is currently touring the independent circuit. Both major promotions want him back in some fashion. However,  his past personal problems are still with him. Word at the WWF camp is that Shane McMahon is arguing to bring back Sid as a heel or as part of DX. Sid is scheduled to be at the ECW pay per view Hardcore Heaven 99. Marty Jannetty was involved in a  serious car accident in Queens, NY with his agent. Terry Funk is scheduled to begin filming a movie starring Daniel Baldwin. Tomomi "Jumbo" Tsuruta  (All Japan Wrestling) announced his retirement from wrestling at a press conference in Tokyo. He will return  to college to study sport-physiology.

   Fans of Jesse "The Brain" Ventura will want to set their VCRs  for May 23, as NBC will air the Jesse Ventura story. Ventura has a biography coming out in their future which includes some some colorful stories of his Navy SeAL days such as how he believes he is the only guy to get paid at a brothel.
